What is Moontoast?
Moontoast is a knowledge sharing
marketplace and community that connects those who know with those who
want to know. It is a place to pursue your passions, to connect with
experts of any kind. A place where you can put your knowledge, experience
and expertise to work for you.
How can I contact Moontoast?

What is an Explorer?
Everyone who joins Moontoast
is an Explorer. From your Explorer dashboard, you can explore and pursue all
the features of Moontoast. You can purchase goods and services from
Guides, communicate with other Explorers and Guides, post Want-Ads, join
Communities, create your own Guide page and much more!
What is a Guide?
A Guide is a user who has knowledge, products or services to offer to other users. A user can add a Guide account by creating a new Guide Page. A user can have multiple Guide accounts. Here is an example of why you might need multiple Guide accounts: you have a business and wish to sell your products (Guide 1), you want to offer your services as a marketing consultant (Guide 2), and you have expertise in cooking and want to share your knowledge (Guide 3).
How do I find people on Moontoast?
Find people in Moontoast by searching for keywords or names. You can specify what types of results
you want to see by using the filters to the left of the search results. For example, you can search any combination of Profiles, Guides, Products, Services, Blogs, and Wants.
Who can see my personal information?
You can determine what information is available to other Explorers and Guides by setting your privacy controls. Certain personal information, such as billing addresses and the name on your account, will never be made available to anyone other than Moontoast or a Moontoast Community that you explicitly allow access to this information. No party will be able to see your credit card or Paypal information.
I haven’t received any notifications. What gives?
First, navigate to your notification settings and make sure the notifications you wish to receive are checked. Second, make sure Moontoast is listed as a Safe Sender on your email account. If you still aren't receiving any notifications, please contact customerservice@moontoast.com.
How do I chat with an Explorer or Guide?
There are many different ways
to initiate a chat sessions with another user. Whenever another user
is online and you are viewing their profile or one of their Guide pages,
you can click on the ‘Chat Now’ link. This will expand a chat
window from the bottom of your screen and you can type in your message
and press send.
With whom can I chat?
You can chat with multiple Explorers and Guides at the same time – basically, any Explorers of Guides who have “unsolicited direct messaging” enabled in their Privacy settings.
How can I chat using my Moontoast account outside of Moontoast?
Many third party instant messaging applications - including Digsby, Pidgin, Trillian, ichat (Mac), and
Adium (Mac) - support XMPP/Jabber instant messages. From your third party instant messaging application, add a XMPP/Jabber account to it using the jabber username found in your Profile. Your password will be the same as the password you use to log in to your Moontoast account. From here, follow the application's instructions to complete setup. You will now be able to send and receive chats without being logged into your Moontoast Account.
What is messaging in Moontoast?
Moontoast uses an internal messaging system that allows users to send messages to other users
without sharing their personal email addresses. You can send messages to users whether they are online or offline. If you are a Guide, messages will enable you to answer questions about products and services, as well as schedule sessions with Explorers. Explorers and Guides do not have to be logged into Moontoast to receive these messages; however, you must be logged in to view and respond to messages. You can opt to receive an email notification when you receive a new message in your Moontoast account.
How do I message another user?
It’s simple, just click on
the ‘message’ links next to an Explorer's or Guide's name. This
link will only appear if the Explorer or Guide allows inbound unsolicited direct
communication. Clicking on this link will open the ‘compose’ feature
in the messaging center. Enter your message and click “send.”.
What can I sell on Moontoast?

What forms of payments do you accept?
Moontoast accepts the following major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard and Discover.
How can I track an order for a product I bought?
Explorers can track a package using the tracking number located on the Shipping Confirmation message
the Guide has sent to you. If you have not received a Shipping Confirmation, please contact the Guide and request one immediately. Please contact customerservice@moontoast.com if you have any issues obtaining a tracking number for your order.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds can be requested by sending an email to customerservice@moontoast.com. Please place Refund Request and the Transaction ID # in the subject line of your email. In the body of the message, please list specific reasons why you are requesting a refund as well as an easy way to contact you.
Where can I find my downloaded products?
Files
that you downloaded can be accessed in your Account menu.
Guide Accounts
What is a Guide?
A Guide is a user who has knowledge, products or services to offer Explorers. As an Explorer, you can add a Guide account by creating a new Guide Page. A user can have multiple Guide accounts. Here is an example of why you might need multiple Guide accounts: you have a business and wish to sell your products (Guide 1), you want to offer your services as a marketing consultant (Guide 2), and you have expertise in cooking and want to share your knowledge (Guide 3).
What is a Guide page?
A Guide page houses information on the products or services offered by the Guide, as well as published content on his/her blog and micro-blog. A Guide may choose to share information about past experiences, samples of work and customer testimonials.
How do I become a Guide?
To become a Guide, navigate to the Activity tab in your Explorer Console. Click on the ‘Create New Guide’ button on the left side of the page and proceed through the setup wizard. You may create as many Guide Accounts as you wish.
How much does it cost to be a Guide?
Creating a Guide page is free. However, there are fees associated with selling products or services, purchasing keywords and exceeding your allotted number of free video player use. For more information, see the Guide Policy page.
Feeds
What is a Feed Group?
A Feed Group is a filtered grouping from all of the feeds you receive based on keywords you select.
The selected keywords are matched to Guides’ interests and specific tags for individual messages, updates, products and services. Additionally, you can directly add Explorers and Guides to a Feed Group by clicking on the 'add to group' link located in the 'My Relationships' tab.
Can anyone else see my Feed Groups?
Only you can see your Feed Groups.
Why does something show up in my Feed?
Some items may show up in your Feed because the content matches one of your keyword interests. You may edit these keywords through your account page. Alternatively, updates and news items in your Feed may be there because a Guide you have chosen to follow has published content. You can choose to unfollow Guides at anytime by clicking the ‘Unfollow’ button that will appear next to the Guide’s name on his/her profile.
Want Ads
What is a Want Ad?
A Want Ad is a request for a product or service published within the Moontoast
Community. Guides can monitor the Want Ads and respond if they wish to fulfill the request.
Is there a cost for posting a Want Ad?
No! Posting and searching Want Ads are completely free.
Sessions
How do I have a video session with a Guide?
Once you have found an online service that you wish to purchase, proceed through the Session Request
process. You will be sent a message and asked to confirm the time of the session and payment information. Once you have paid, simply click on the Moontoast Player located at the bottom of your browser at the designated time. You will be automatically connected when the Guide arrives.
What is the difference between a Live Video Service and a Service?
A Live Video Service is completed using Moontoast’s Video Player. This is ideal for users who are
not in close proximity to each other or want to give or receive a service from the comfort of their own home. A Service is posted when the Guide completes a project for the Explorer. You will pay for the session ahead of time and the transaction will be completed once the Guide acknowledges the project was completed.
Publishing
Who can see the content I publish?
Anyone can see the content you publish, but only those Explorers who follow you or Explorers you are Friends with will receive your
content in their Feed.
What is a Community?
A Community is an area of Moontoast where people with the same passions and interests can share knowledge
and expertise. There is no restriction on how many Communities an Explorer can belong to, but Guides can belong to only one Community.
A user can set up a different Guide page for each Community they wish to participate in.

What browsers work best with Moontoast?

Do I need any special equipment?
If you choose to offer Live Video Services or attend one of these services, you will need a webcam. Any webcam that displays at least 640x480 pixels will work fine. If your webcam does not have a microphone, you will need to use your computer’s microphone or purchase an external microphone. Headphones are not required, but are recommended to ensure
there is no feedback heard during the Live Video Service.
